As part of the Upward Bound Math and Science Program, students must complete and present a final research project at end of the 6th week. Since time is scarce and the project is complex, it is not completed by any one individual; students are broken up into groups based on their interests. Students were asked to brainstorm project ideas based on subjects that really intrigued them, or things that they wanted to learn more about. The answers were surprising, and reflect the ever-evolving state that our society thrives in. More and more students are pursuing careers in science, engineering, and math than ever before! So, without further adieu, here's what the 2013 UBMS class is interested in studying:
