"Math and Science in Firefighting"

By: Tracy Abler UBMS is pleased to announce that the first program in the "Math and Science in My Daily Job"series is scheduled for: Wednesday, October 23rd at Marian University Stayer Auditorium from 6-7 PM. PRESENTED BY: Firefighter/Paramedic, Carl Bahr, from the Fond du Lac Fire Department Carl has been on the Fond du Lac Fire Department for the past 9-1/2 years. He received his Associates Degree from Fox Valley Tech for firefighting and then devoted an additional year to become a certified paramedic on the national registry. Students will have the opportunity to learn how math, chemistry, and physics are applied in: flame length and height, engine pump pressure, water volume in hose, flow rates, friction loss, rate of fire spread, spread distance, weather factors, burnt area and perimeter, among many other concepts. Additionally, Carl will demonstrate how math and science is used as a paramedic. Carl's presentation will be about...
