Hello Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac families,
Our team has been preparing for the 13th edition of the UBMS Summer Academy in the Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac area. We are inviting students who are finishing grades 8 through 11 to apply for Marian University's Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) program.
The theme for the 2025 UBMS Summer Academy is "Dancing Through Life." This theme will encourage students to grow with confidence, move through challenges with grace, and stay in rhythm with their goals and dreams. It will guide our workshops, team-building activities, and discussions all summer long.
This year, the UBMS program is placing a stronger focus on STEAM learning. Through hands-on courses, engaging workshops, interactive seminars, and other enrichment activities, students will explore science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics in new and exciting ways.
Parents, guardians, and students may have already received information about the UBMS program through email or in the mail. Program representatives are currently visiting schools in both Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac districts to speak with students and staff about this opportunity. We encourage families to talk together about the benefits of this program and what it can offer. This video below is certainly made for local students. However, please share it with parents, guardians, coaches, teachers, school staff, and school administrators. These individuals often help recommend the right participants for the Upward Bound program.
We are looking for 24 new participants. We will accept applications until May 31st, or until all spots are filled.
Returning students do not need to re-apply. However, we do ask that they complete the appropriate confirmation form so we can plan more efficiently for the summer.
Important Details:
- The 2025 UBMS Summer Academy
will run from June 16 to July 29, 2025 (Monday – Friday).
Please note: No sessions will be held on June 19 and July 4.
- For
planning purposes, we ask that all new student applications be
submitted by May 31, 2025.
