Cultivate Your Future. Join the UBMS Program

Are you a high schooler in the Fond du Lac area with big dreams for college? Or a parent looking for a transformative summer experience for your student?

Since 2012, the Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) program has been a cornerstone of our community. Through a powerful partnership between Marian University, the Fond du Lac School District, and the School District of North Fond du Lac, we provide the tools, the community, and the confidence to turn college dreams into reality.

Best of all? Because of federal funding and institutional support, it’s completely FREE for eligible participants.

Summer 2026:

We believe that with the right environment and support, every student can grow into their full potential. From June 22 to July 31, students will immerse themselves in a six-week journey of discovery, growth, and preparation.

What to Expect:

  • On-Campus Learning (Mon–Thu): Students will experience life on the Marian University campus, participating in STEAM-focused activities and academic enrichment designed to build curiosity and collaboration.

  • Adventure Fridays: Most Fridays are reserved for off-campus educational enrichment trips, taking learning out into the world (Note: No trip on July 3rd).

  • The Grand Finale (July 31): Our closing day is a special showcase where students present what they’ve learned and achieved over the summer to their peers and families.

Note: This is a non-residential program. Students arrive on campus each morning and head home in the afternoon.

Who Is Eligible to Participate in UBMS?

We are currently looking for students completing grades 8 through 11 who attend (or plan to attend) high school in Fond du Lac or North Fond du Lac.

To meet federal criteria, students should:

  1. Be potential first-generation college students (neither parent has a 4-year degree).

  2. Come from a limited-income household.

  3. Show a genuine interest and potential to succeed in college.

Why Choose UBMS?

Once accepted, students don't just get "mentors"—they get a roadmap for the future. We offer:

  • Personalized Guidance: One-on-one support tailored to academic goals.

  • Hands-on STEAM: Engaging activities that make math and science come alive.

  • College and Career Readiness: Assistance with applications, financial aid, and career exploration.

Don’t Wait—Space is Limited!

Because we offer such personalized support, spots fill up fast. If you’re ready to join this summer, make sure to register before the May 31 deadline.
